Student Internship Opportunities

50 positions available! Have you ever thought about being a teacher? Do you love working with children? The Long Beach Unified School District Human Resource Services (HRS) department is excited to offer the opportunity for 50 current high school students to gain work experience in education through working with Elementary and K-8 students in the Supports, Enrichment, and Accelerated Learning (SEAL) Program. To apply, you must be: 1) 15 years or older by the first day of employment, June 24, 2024; and 2) currently in grades 9, 10, or 11. Please see full description for more details.

Students submitting applications by Sunday, April 7, 2024, will have priority consideration. The application will remain open until positions are filled.

In addition, students participating in the internship also have the opportunity to take a dual enrollment LBCC class, EDUC 20: Intro to Elementary Classroom Teaching (click here to view the flyer)

Internships are available to current high school juniors and seniors who reside in Long Beach or attend a high school in the Long Beach Unified School District service area.
